Day 212 — Crucifixion
The Alessi bowl appears again; this time in a religious theme implied through the window frame shadows.

This little guy is hiding out behind the potted plant.

Modest, yet robust bouquet gets the light splashed treatment from reflecting buildings across the street.

Day 206 — Halo
With the light behind this fleshy succulent, its fine edge becomes well delineated; almost like a neon band.

Day 200 — Balancing Act
I wonder how high I can go. I haven't tried balancing rocks before. This could be fun.

Day 199 — Nigella
These curves are so voluptuous, I felt compelled to title the lily after my favorite chef.
Nikon D7000 (Nikkor 50mm 1.4) 1/200, f14, ISO 100, + close up filter
Day 198 — Dead Iris
In the spirit of Dead Daffodils, I decided to capture this iris past its prime. Petals become lace-like filigree.

Day 197 — Lily Love
I seem to be having a love affair with this bunch of lilies. They look great from every angle; even without the vase.

Day 196 — Calla Lilies
The force of the sun has bowled these lilies over.
Nikon D7000 (Nikkor 18-200mm) 1/640, f8, ISO 100, 24mm

A little sunlight ignites the center bloom on this bunch of irises.

Day 194 — The Calla Lilies Are in Bloom Again
The title of today's blog comes from a line from an old movie called Stage Door. Check it out, it stars Katharine Hepburn, Lucille Ball, Ginger Rogers and one of my all time favorites Eve Arden.

Day 191 — Gasteria
I just put the plant front and center for this snap. The appeal for me in this shot is its overall grayness, with just the white rim of the pot delineating itself.

Day 190 — Coffee Break
The milk jug is hilarious, but the cup is my favorite because it was designed for Illy by famed photographer Sabastiâo Salgado to promote his In Principio project. It comes from his photo of two men throwing a bag of coffee from one to the other. The illustration on the saucer has the bag photoshopped out of it but becomes complete again when the cup is placed upon it.

Day 188 — Almost There
The plant I featured on Day 166 has a leaf that now almost touches the floor; so close! A tight zoom in assists me in abstracting this image to my liking. I like it when my images are, at first, somewhat confronting to the viewer.

Day 187 — Colima Figure
Harsh contrast for this little Colima figure highlights the texture of the clay body and incised designs.

Day 184 — Big As Your Head
It's watermelon season. I've been looking at Stieglitz's photos of O'Keeffe's hands and it got me wondering if I could incorporate Mikael's body parts into this blog. Here's a start.

The balcony furniture throws some great shadows at midday.

Day 182 — Leek
Some foods strike me as examples of magnificent architecture.
