With the light behind this fleshy succulent, its fine edge becomes well delineated; almost like a neon band.

Day 205 — Feminine Curves

The feminine curves of Arne Jacobsen's chair are exaggerated in this shadow shot. This was taken late in the evening with the dim light from above. The high ISO resulted in a grainy quality and takes me back to the old 400ASA days of the twentieth century.

Day 202 — The Pedestal

In the Castro,back in the 90s, there were a host of new and unique stores with original products. This piece is cast in cement and finished to look like rusted cast iron. I wish we had purchased more of their work. Evocative of an older time. No dramatic light in the house today, I'm afraid this piece will have to stand on it's own.

Day 192 — Mango

This mango was so sweet and perfectly ripe. I love the plateau of juice shimmering on the top cube.

Day 191 — Gasteria

I just put the plant front and center for this snap. The appeal for me in this shot is its overall grayness, with just the white rim of the pot delineating itself.

Day 190 — Coffee Break

The milk jug is hilarious, but the cup is my favorite because it was designed for Illy by famed photographer Sabastiâo Salgado to promote his In Principio project. It comes from his photo of two men throwing a bag of coffee from one to the other. The illustration on the saucer has the bag photoshopped out of it but becomes complete again when the cup is placed upon it.

The plant I featured on Day 166 has a leaf that now almost touches the floor; so close! A tight zoom in  assists me in abstracting this image to my liking. I like it when my images are, at first, somewhat confronting to the viewer.
